Coming in October 2013: Taken By the Wind

This past year was an exceedingly busy one for me. My partner and I moved from a house in Minneapolis, where we'd lived in for almost thirty years, to a town home in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. We're all settled in now and and very happy with our new digs. Moving is a harrowing experience. Not for the faint of heart.

As for book news, Rest For the Wicked has been shortlisted for the 2013 Lambda Literary Award for Best Lesbian Mystery as well as the Golden Crown Literary Award in the Mystery/Thriller category. The 25th Annual Lambda Literary Awards will be held Monday, June 3, 2013, in New York City. For more information, visit their site. St. Martin's/Minotaur has once again offered me a two book contract—for the 22nd and 23rd Jane Lawless mysteries. When I started writing twenty-five years ago, I had no idea the series would run this long! I feel extremely lucky to have such a wonderful, supportive publisher in St. Martin's. The newest, Taken By the Wind, will hit stores in October, 2013. Also, Bywater Books has leased the trade paperback rights for my last four mysteries. This will be the first time they will be available in paperback. Look for The Mirror and the Mask and The Cruel Ever After to be in stores this fall.

I hope to see many of you along the promotional trail! I'm still doing events with my friends Carl Brookins and William Kent Krueger, known more infamously as The Minnesota Crime Wave. Check out the events calendar for times, locations and dates.
